India is a melting pot of cultures, and one such hub is Delhi. An amalgamation of modernity and tradition, the city offers an array of delicacies ranging from the typical "Dilli" street food, traditional desserts, and western cuisines to full meals rooted in the Delhi culture and history.

But with so many options available some of the places do not get the credit that they truly deserve. Here are the top ten hidden gems of Delhi when it comes to food.


  1. Kanshiram Chole Kulche

    If you are a fan of the Delhi street food then you must be familiar with spice. The kanshiram chole kulche joint offers mouth watering chole kulche that will make your tongue burn but you won't be able to resist it. The chutney they apply on the kulcha is their secret weapon. If you do not like spicy food then you can ask them to not put the sauce on the kulcha.
    It is situated in a small area and does not have a proper seating area because of which this has become one of the Underrated eateries in Delhi.

    Delhi is famous for its numerous stalls of Momos and Chowmein. It's impossible to not find such a stall in every market of Delhi NCR. Although with so many stalls available not all of them get the appreciation they deserve. Pushkar Raj momos is one such stall which offers amazing momos and chowmein. It has maintained its quality and quantity for the past 10 years. Just go to the shop with the longest queue in front of it.

    For authentic Delhi street food like chaat, gol gappe, pao bhaji, bhel puri, etc Atul Chat corner is the best place. The age old street food corner has a loyal client base and you'll always find a queue in front of the shop. It's truly a shame though that only people in West Delhi know about it. Being a street food joint, it doesn't follow the norms of advertisement. The customer base of Atul chaat corner is based on the words of mouth reviews which has resulted in a loyal customer base but limited to West Delhi.

    One of the best take out joints in delhi, Hawkers still doesn't get the credit it deserves. It offers a wide variety of food selection to choose from that too at a reasonable price. The singapore noodles and paneer momos are spicy and the best you’ll ever have. A joint which promises to bring alive all your taste buds but does not offer an ambience of a proper lounge or a restaurant. Maybe this is why Hawkers has not received the appreciation it deserves.

    The tea shop is a known hangout spot for college students from Noida. It has a menu which makes for the best snacks. It offers a variety of sandwiches, momos and muffins along with Beverages. Their hazelnut cold coffee, ice tea, chicken momos and chicken salami sandwich are especially very famous. If you are looking to hangout with your friend then this is the place for you, at a reasonable price you get great quantity and quality.

    A joint which is based on a totally unique concept. It is a biker workshop-turned-cafe where bike enthusiasts gather to discuss their experiences, and to generally socialise. They also cater to your pets and prepare some yummy, fresh food for them too. The menu includes snacks such as bun maska, sandwiches, and dimsums, to more filling fare such as parathas, chilli chicken, wraps and litti chokha. Friday evenings are social nights where you’ll find bikers learning/interacting with a guest artist or simply unwinding over screenings of MTV Unplugged or Coke Studio; they have a projector for these occasions. Because of the lack of advertisement this amazing gem of a place is still hidden from most Delhiites.

Cyber City offers various options in the form of clubs, lounges and fine dining restaurants because of which understated joints like Mukesh Dhaba do not get the appreciation they deserve.

    The next time you are in Cyber City, instead of spending half your salary on a cafe or lounge spend it in Mukesh Dhaba which offers great food without making a hole in your pocket.

    Up late night partying? Or pulled an all nighter for studying? Not many food joints deliver late at night. Wrappers is one such place which offers tasty food at a reasonable price. Order any type of momos or rolls from the menu and you will not be dissapointed. The best part is that the packaging of the food is up to the mark which keeps the food warm.

    As very few eateries remain open till 6 in the morning, without proper advertisement people do not get to know about them. The same is in the case of Wrappers.

    So on the next sleepover, order delicious rolls from wrappers at a pocket friendly price.

    The place offers the best tandoori food items you’ll ever find. Unfussy restaurant which offers a familiar range of Indian dishes, especially featuring chicken.

    The way to Kohli Chicken is a bit confusing and there is no space to park as it is located in a small lane. So the next time you are in Janakpuri, do not forget to try the tandoori food here. And remember to walk.

The place is not well known because it is located in Dwarka which is out of the way for most people in Delhi. But if you are a momo’s lover you have to check it out. At a very reasonable price, you get diverse options you have never heard of.
