Why does one study? To earn money and live a decent lifestyle. Completing any course opens doors to a career or profession. This translates as income that supports your lifestyle.

To be a blogger one does not require an actual degree. All one needs is the passion to always be hungry for new information in their area of interest.

Many people are under the wrong impression that blogging is an easy way to gain money and fame. But famous Indian bloggers such as Prajakta Kohli (Mostly Sane), Amit Agarwal (Labnol), Pritam Nagrale (MoneyConnexion) and Nandini Shenoy (PinkVilla) did not reach the kind of following they have overnight.

This blog is going to focus on how these famous Indian Bloggers achieved fame and what exactly is in store for you if you choose to blog as a professional career.

  1. Blogging requires passion.

Opportunities don’t happen, you create them.
Blogging is one such career. You create your own path. To do any job right, one has to be passionate about it. Blogging demands passion.
If your passion for money flows deeper than your passion for the topic then, blogging is not a lucrative career option for you. Blogging requires hours of research on the chosen area of interest. If you are not hungry for information like that, blogging would not be the right profession for you.

  2. Blogging requires creative skills.

Gaining knowledge of a particular domain or area is easy. It's the representation part where most people lack.
Once you have gained the knowledge that you need, you have to be able to express it in a way that attracts readers. This is where creative writing skills come in. It's a talent that requires practice. A blogger should keep upgrading his/her writing skills by reading various books, other posts and writing every day.
This is important because these days anyone can find information on the web. Your blog has to present information is such a way that engages the reader.
As Stephan King said, “If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all: Read a lot and write a lot”.

  3. Blogging requires patience.

Nothing in life comes easy. One has to work hard and be patient to achieve success. The same applies for blogging.
A blogger can't gain overnight success.
Be prepared for failure. Don’t let failure discourage you. Today's failure should inspire you for tomorrow's success.
Ask many successful people today, they’ll tell you how they once failed big time. Not even small failures; they failed big time to succeed big time. So learn from your failures and be patient. Success will come your way.
“Failure defeats losers, failure inspire winners” - Robert Kiyosaki

  4. Blogging requires discipline.

With blogging as a career choice, you are your own boss. You can work when you want or take a holiday when you don't feel like working. This flexible schedule becomes home to laziness.
To remain active, everyone needs a particular schedule to follow. So even though as a blogger one has the luxury of a flexible schedule make sure that you add discipline to it. Fix your schedule for work i.e decide a minimum amount of time for which you will work every day.
Then spend the rest of your time upgrading your key skills, reading books, practicing meditation and going to the gym.
You should have a plan that you can work upon and keep a proper goal – whether it be target traffic, subscribers or income. If you don't have a target to achieve, there will be less motivation for you to wake up and start blogging.

  5. Blogging requires Consistency.

Success doesn't come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently. - Marie Forleo
Consistency is the key to blogging. Fix a schedule for publishing your blog and stick to it. The tip is to never let your blog be barren. Always keep updating it.
Consistent publishing helps increase your following because the followers know when to expect new content from you.
Even if you get a few negative comments, do not get disheartened. Because every negative comment means people cared enough to read your blog. So, keep on pumping new high-quality posts on your blog. Inconsistent posting spoils your brand image and hurts your reputation

  6. Exploration is the key.

Exploration is the key to success. Exploration helps you to gain knowledge about different areas. It will also help you to find out what lies in store for you.
At the initial stages of your career as a blogger, practice exploration. Find out what you are good at and what the audience is responding to.
This will help you to find your footing among the already established bloggers on the web.

  7. Future of blogging.

The first question that comes to mind while choosing a career is- what's the future of blogging?
Blogging is a career that will never die. It's one of the few career choices which will not become obsolete even with the emergence of artificial intelligence.
The consumption of content has increased rapidly over the past few years because of the accessibility of Smartphone and cheap internet connection. There are tons of niches, in which there are no quality content writers.
Said simply, there is not enough content on the web to feed the ever-growing content consumers. Blogging would be a great choice as a profession.

Things have changed in the past few years which has now made Blogging a lucrative career option. Being a highly competitive field, one has to always be on the top of his/ her game as a blogger. If you do end up choosing Blogging as a career, remember it is not as easy as it seems. It requires hard work and constant upgrading. But the difference between a 9 to 5 job in a company and blogging is that you'll enjoy your work as long as you are passionate about it.
